Birth Pathways Classes focus on natural, unmedicated birth for women planning to birth in the hospital or at home. Classes are intended to prepare women to make their own informed choices about managing pregnancy, labor, and birth. It is my belief that all families have the right to know what pathways are available to them for their journey through pregnancy, labor, and birth, and to choose the pathway that suits them best. The classes I offer are based on this belief and emphasize the health and wholeness of pregnant women, their babies, and their families.
Topics Covered in a Birth Pathways Class Include:
* Choosing a Birth Plan – a care provider, a place of birth, and a birth plan
* The Pregnancy Journey – Nutrition, Exercise, and Emotional and Spiritual Preparation
* Comfort Measures for Labor, Visualization & Relaxation
* The Natural Process of Labor and Birth
* Complications in Pregnancy, Labor and Birth
* Caring for your Newborn
